What Are the Causes?

Sleep issues can stem from a number of causes. Irregularity in sleep habits and schedule can cause sleep difficulties. Environmental factors can also contribute as well such room temperature and lighting. Stress, anxiety, and depression may also contribute to chronic sleep issues. These same factors can also lead to insomnia. Insomnia causes a person to not be able to get to sleep or stay asleep for very long. These sleep difficulties often lead to daytime fatigue, irritability, and other negative symptoms. Causes may also stem from less obvious factors that would need to be identified by a healthcare professional.

Many times with sleep difficulties traditional medicine would prescribe a sleep medication. While these medications can help a person feel tired enough to get to sleep, they do not produce the natural and rejuvenating sleep that your body needs. We'll often begin by evaluating all aspects of a patient's health. We look at their physical health factors, their mental/ emotional state, as well as their biochemical makeup (diet).
